This is my go-hot recipe for Hot Chocolate when I have time to make “real” Hot Cocoa. It’s very similar to the way my mom made it when I was growing up. This recipe works great when you’re making Jamaican Hot Chocolate.

Rich Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Cocoa Powder

1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

1/4 teaspoon Salt

1/3 cup Warm Water

4 cups Milk

3/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup Half and Half

Instructions:

1. Blend Cocoa Powder, Sugar, and Salt in a saucepan.

2. Add warm water and stir over medium heat until thoroughly mixed. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes.

3. Add Milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil.

4. Remove from heat and stir in Vanilla Extract and Half and Half. Divide between 4 mugs.
